What is electrolysis?
Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal solution for everybody, regardless of gender, skin color or hair type.
Electrolysis safely and permanently removes all types of hair from all skin tones, in all areas of the body. There are a lot of temporary hair removal and reduction services out there, but electrolysis stands alone as the permanent alternative to lifetime maintenance. Electrolysis destroys the growth cells of the hair follicle, preventing treated hairs from growing back. Most other methods focus on immediate, but temporary, hair removal. None of them offer the permanence of electrolysis.
Electrolysis treatment consists of a technician inserting a very fine probe into the natural opening of the hair follicle. A tiny amount of electrical current is then applied to destroy the hair growth cells. During a personal and confidential consultation, your electrologist will design a treatment plan that addresses your specific hair removal needs
Who is Electrolysis for?
Electrolysis is permanent hair removal for everybody.
No matter what the specific problem area, age, gender, hair or skin type, hair or skin color – you are not alone, and electrolysis can help. Every day, people just like you choose electrolysis as a permanent, safe, and effective solution.
How many treatments/ how long does it take?
Individual treatments: Depending on the area you want cleared, a treatment could be between a few minutes for a follow-up appointment, to an hour or more for larger areas with denser hair growth.
Overall Treatment: Most people who follow their recommended treatment plan can expect to be done or nearly done within 12 months. Sometimes less for less hair growth (ex. smattering of unruly chin hairs), sometimes more for larger and denser areas (ex. full beard or full legs) Some people require as little as 5 treatments over a year period, some people require many more.
Why does some hair regrow in the treated area?
Factors such as hair growth cycles, the density of hair presented, previous use of hair removal methods, heredity, hormone function, certain medications, and stress influence how tenacious the hairs are and why some reappear. They can sometimes cling to life when given extra fuel from the listed reasons, but they will not last. Additionally breaking down the hair growth cells on deeper, more coarse hairs oen requires more than one treatment, as they have developed larger, deeper follicles and blood vessels delivering extra nutrients for aggressive growth.
What modalities of electrolysis does your clinic use?
Our technicians are trained and experienced in both the blend method of electrolysis and thermolysis (flash) method.
Does Electrolysis hurt?
Pain is minimal for most people, but every individual experiences pain differently. Remember that some areas of the body are much more sensitive than others. Many people read, listen to music, or even take a nap while being treated. Some need to fidget with a stress toy to make it through.
Genital work, on the other hand, hurts. Some people tolerate it ok, and some don’t tolerate it at all. Find info on pain management with this area of work in the Before and After Care Guidelines – (SRS Prep/ Brazilian)
